The Archives Ministry

VISION:
To preserve the historical records of Saint John Baptist Church so the present and future generations can learn our history, and also understand and value its' heritage.

MISSION:
To collect, arrange, and preserve Saint John's historical records for present and future generations-so generations to come would know them and share with future generations to come.

So the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Psalm 78:6

  • Collect, sort, describe, arrange, repair, and preserve Saint John Baptist Church legal, financial, administrative and historical records.
  • To make all records and materials accessible to church members.
  • To provide storage, protection, and preservation of archival materials.
  • To prepare and access the records in the Archives.
  • To create an environment that allows the entire congregation to use the collection
  • To inform the church of their heritage through displays and exhibits.

Policies:
  • Access materials to the members of Saint John Baptist Church
  • Users register at the Archives and fill out a request form
  • Archives will be made available by appointments only
  • No patron may enter room unattended
  • No food, drink, or bags are permitted
  • No documents, files, pictures, or other materials belonging to the collection may leave the area
  • Archived materials must not be marked, cut, torn, folded, soiled, disarranged, or in any way damaged
  • Confidentiality of certain official records
  • Copying of fragile, brittle, or faded materials will not be allowed
  • Church information will be collected quarterly

"The Beacon" Newsletter Ministry

This newsletter is used to inspire and inform the membership of events and activities in the church and the greater community. It is published twice a year-once to highlight the year in review and (2) the high school and college graduates of the Church. It also promotes a positive image of the church and it shares and recognizes the activities and achievements of the members, and the Good News of the Gospel.

Published by the Young Woman's Auxiliary (YWA).

Saint John Food Pantry Ministry

VISION
To promote a favorable and lasting impression of the SJBC Food Pantry in the minds of everyone with whom we interact, including clients, donors, media, volunteers and the general community.

MISSION
The mission of the Saint John Baptist Church Food Pantry Ministry is to serve God by providing emergency food to help feed families in our church and in our local community who are facing financial hardships due to loss of jobs, unexpected expenses, and other financial crises.

Visitation and Outreach Ministry

This ministry endeavors to visit a state correctional institution to share in worship with the brothers and sisters incarcerated through the preached Word, prayers, inspirational music and encouragement to become members of the family of God.

Parking Lot Ministry

VISION:
To provide well trained individuals that protect the members and guest from all hurt, harm, and danger and vandalism while they are attending worship service at Saint John Baptist Church.

MISSION:
To ensure that the entire church property is a safe environment while members and guest are attending worship service or church activities. To be a visual deterrent to criminal activity and/or disruption of worship service/activities.

VISION
Saint John Baptist Church Elder Care Ministry is to improve the quality of life for seniors communities through evangelism, education, and economic empowerment.

MISSION:
Saint John Baptist Church Elder Care Ministry is to help our seniors to be more independent, comfortable and healthier in their home; to develop a comprehensive care plan to their specific needs; healing souls to salvation; growing in grace through the study of God's word. Garden Ministry

VISION:
To be a blessing against hunger through provision of healthy food for the body, which is temple of God.

MISSION:
Plant and seek to have harvest.

  1. Promote healthy care of physical body through good nutrition.
  2. Plant good seed in God's earth and stay faithful that God will provide for harvest. In the morning sow thy seek, and in the evening withhold not thine hand; for thou knoweth not whether shall prosper; either this or that, or whether both shall be alike good. Ecclesiastic 11:6.
